The Goddard School of Upper Arlington — purposefully designed for the earliest, most formative years. Enrollment is open now for our January 2027 opening. Founding-family priority. Limited spots in each classroom.
For more than 35 years, The Goddard School has nurtured each child's unique potential — turning everyday moments of wonder into learning that lasts a lifetime.
We don't just prepare children for the next step. We prepare them for a lifetime of possibilities — with the freedom to explore, learn at their own pace, and discover who they're becoming.
Now, that experience is coming to Upper Arlington.
Most early childhood programs follow the same playbook. We've built ours around six deliberate choices that aren't optional, aren't aspirational, and aren't going to change.
1:4 for infants. 1:6 for toddlers and twos. 1:10 from bridge through Pre-K. Below state requirements at every level — and lower than any other program in our service area. Every child gets the attention they deserve.
Designed from the ground up for early learning. Modern classrooms, secure access, and a layout shaped around how children actually move through their day — not retrofitted from a building that was built for something else.
A dedicated indoor play space plus a full outdoor playground means kids move every single day — through Ohio winters, rainy mornings, and everything in between. Movement isn't a weather-permitting activity here.
Career educators — not the industry default. Every lead teacher in every room is degreed, trained in the Wonder of Learning® curriculum, and supported by ongoing professional development. The people in our classrooms have chosen this work for the long haul.
Spanish, music, yoga, soccer, art, and more — each taught by dedicated subject specialists who design real curriculum for every age. This is the same enrichment model the best private elementary schools use. We start it at infancy.
Hot lunch catering or send from home — your call. Two organic snacks daily, included for every child. Diapers and wipes provided for infants and toddlers. Real-time updates through the Goddard Family App. We work around you, not the other way around.
We don't measure success by what a child can recite. We measure it by who they are becoming — academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively. Six qualities our teachers nurture from the very first day.
They ask real questions and chase the answers. Curiosity becomes their default — not something to be prompted, but something that drives them forward.
They trust themselves — not because they've been told they're great, but because they've been given the chance to struggle, try again, and succeed on their own terms.
They notice other people. The emotional vocabulary to name what they feel. The awareness to recognize it in others. The instinct to show up kindly.
They see more than one answer. Art, music, movement, and open-ended projects teach them that problems worth solving usually have more than one path.
They don't wait to be told what to do next. They manage their materials, take initiative, and walk into new environments with genuine self-direction.
The thing we're proudest of: they leave excited about what comes next. They associate school with joy, discovery, and belonging.
This is the school we would choose for our own children — because in many cases, it is.
Most schools ask families to choose between the resources of a national program and the personal feel of a locally-owned one. At The Goddard School of Central Ohio, you don't have to choose.
Kyle & Ruth Arbaugh — who acquired their first Goddard School in Lewis Center in 2020 — are active owners, not silent investors. They live in these neighborhoods. Their team shows up, pays attention, and runs every campus to the same standard.
Upper Arlington is the fifth Goddard School in Central Ohio under their ownership — and the next chapter of building exceptional early childhood education within reach of more families.
Reviews from current Goddard families across our Central Ohio schools.
"Goddard is wonderful from top to bottom — the owners, directors, and teachers are all wonderful and have earned our trust. Each week our boys are learning new things and becoming better people."
"Our son loves coming to school every morning. From the teachers to the administrators, everyone has a vested interest in each child's growth. The communication we receive is top notch."
"Our daughter attended The Goddard School for 3 years. She was well ahead of her classmates when she transitioned to public school. We felt very comfortable with all the teachers and staff."
